Rent payment methods
The initial weekly rent and charges payable in respect of your home are shown on your Tenancy Agreement. Any rent increase or decrease from that amount will be notified in a letter to you.
Rent is due in advance on or before the Monday of each week, A Rent payment card is provided, for payment at any post office (cash or cheques), pay point (cash only), pay zone (cash and debit card), in person at the office (cash, cheque, debit card, visa or master card and over the telephone on 0870 243 6040. You will need your rent payment card (debit, visa or master card). Alternatively you can arrange to pay by Standing Order or Direct Debit. Only in exceptional circumstances will the rent be collected directly from you.
We will be pleased to discuss with you arrangements for payments by standing order or Direct Debit.
If you are not working, or are working part-time, or full-time on a low wage and you have savings or capital UNDER £16,000, you may be entitled to Housing & Council Tax Benefit & Working Families Tax Credit. Housing Benefit is a payment made by the Local Authority's Housing Benefit Section, towards your rent. Please discuss your entitlement with your housing officer if you have not already done so.
Your rent payment may include a service charge. Please see the Service Charge Summary sheet attached to your Tenancy Agreement for details of any Services provided.
