Our local offer: Value for money
We will:
- Set targets each year in our business plan to monitor our performance.
- Have a finance and risk sub committee who scrutinise our expenditure and make sure we are on target
- Have a cyclical programme of service reviews were we check that our services are meeting the needs of tenants and are cost effective. The results of the reviews will be publicised in our newsletter
- Have a rigorous tender process so all major works are tendered to make sure we are getting the best price
- Regularly test the market to make sure we are getting value for money
- Be a member of an organisation called Procurement for Housing and through them we can access services at a preferential rate
- Agree an Annual Asset Management Strategy that forecasts our long term maintenance spending commitments Produce an annual business plan
- We will not charge rents higher than those recommended by the Government and we will only review your rent annually
- Service charges will be monitored closely to make sure that they offer value for money
- Use small local contractors whose operating costs are lower, which help to keep repairs prices down. We will review repair costs each year and compare with other local contractors to ensure value for money
- Carry out regular inspection of completed work to make sure costs are acceptable including cost comparisons (benchmarking) with other repair providers to ensure that our repair costs remain competitive
