Allocations, Rents and Tenure Issues

We will:

  • Give you information on how long you may have to wait for re-housing with us
  • Provide you with detailed information on the location type and size of housing in our stock
  • Provide up-to-date information on the availability of properties from other social landlords
  • Let you know within 28 days whether we will be able to help you with re-housing
  • We will allocate our properties using a banding system which priorities applicants into the greatest need. All details will be included in our lettings pack
  • Review all applications every 6 months
  • Offer up to 50% to the local authority
  • Always explain the tenancy agreement in detail to new tenants
  • Always using plain language when we write or talk to you
  • Have a service improvement plan based on the outcome of postal surveys
  • Consult you on how best to develop our services
  • Offer home visits where it is difficult for you to get to us
  • Check all applicants can manage a tenancy by carrying out relevant checks. If applicants are vulnerable or need support we will refer for appropriate help
  • Visit all new tenants within 4-6 weeks of moving in to make sure they have settled in
  • Offer an assured short hold tenancy agreement for all new tenants and always explain why we are doing this and how long this will be for
  • We will provide new residents with a handbook that sets out clearly the key terms and conditions of their tenancy agreement
