Join the Board

Several tenants have already sat on the Arawak Walton Board, and we would like to encourage others to come and join them. Their experience as customers provides us with valuable insight and helps us to see where our priorities lie for the future

Becoming a board member means having:

  • A commitment to the values and objectives of the association.
  • A commitment to the association's core policies.
  • A commitment to abide by the association's Code of Conduct and Confidentiality Policy.
  • An obligation to contribute to, and share responsibility for the Board's decisions.
  • An obligation to read Board papers.
  • Aa obligation to attend meetings, training sessions and other events.
  • An obligation to declare any relevant interests.
  • A commitment to equal opportunities
  • We also welcome applications from people with particular skills and expertise, such as financial knowledge, as well as those who have no specific qualifications apart from an an interest in social housing and a willingness to represent the views of the local community.

All applications will be carefully considered in line with the Association's procedures. Potential candidates will be invited to attend a board meeting as observers to find out more about what the role involves.

Please call Ceri Smith at Arawak Walton if you would like to find out more or to apply for Board membership
